  I was baptized in the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Antioch in 1985. I served in an accompanist and music director capacity through May 2000. I was married there on 2 June 1990.
  
  Today I was treated in a most unchristian-like behavior by the female manning the phones at United Christian Church. I called before 10:00 am and gently asked if FCC was an open and affirming church. My question wasn't answered; the slattern who answered the phone hung up on me. Stunned, I called back and left a message stating that I had been a DOC for many years and that this call was not a prank. It's now four hours later, I've not received a call back, and am flummoxed that an entity purporting to be Christian would treat me like this.
  
  The woman who answered judged me, and definitely NOT by Our Lord's standards. She had no idea why I called; she didn't know if I was in crisis and needed someone to talk to; she obviously didn't care. Did the thought cross her feeble brain that maybe I was looking for a church that WASN'T open and affirming?
  
  Under no circumstances would I recommend this church due to the person who judged me earlier this day. I wonder if Our Lord would be welcomed by the good folk at UCC.
